Robert Allworth (born 10th March 1943) now ranks as one of Australia’s established serious composers. His symphonic compositions "Plateau" and "Australia Suite" have been performed by the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Patrick Thomas, and other symphonic works have been performed in Hong Kong, Japan and London. Robert has written numerous works for a wide variety of solo and instrumental ensembles. He is the founder of Jade CDs and the producer of all albums on this label, which now number over 90. In the 1997 Australia Day Honours, Robert Allworth was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM-Gen.Div.) for his services to music as a composer and as an advocate of other Australian composers’ works.

Adrian Hooper directs the Sydney Mandolins in the Mandolin & Guitar Music of Robert Allworth. Pianist David Miller plays a variety of solo pieces. Organist Lawrence Bartlett plays the title piece and other works on the organ of St. Michaels Church, Vaucluse, Sydney. Inspirational sources include religion, literature and landscape.
