Cymbelín comes back after four years in a new configuration and with a new album, Těba. Along with the original members Tomáš Šenkyřík (vocals, guitar) and Pavel Rajmic (violin, bass), you will hear Vlaďka Krčková (vocals), Jiří Mottl (sax) and Lukáš Kyzlink (drums). Compared with the previous records, Těba is more rhythmical and straightforward. The vocals of Vlaďka Krčková are intimately emphatic and colored in expression. Her texts together with the music of Tomáš Šenkyřík make fundaments for the record’s distinctive sound. At the same time Cymbelín does not divert from its typical poetry and original musical seizure of traditional songs as well as the freshly sounding mixture of folk and chanson. In addition to these the album brings poetry of Šenkyřík’s favorite poets set to music, such as a daring adaptation of Seifert’s Moře (Sea) or two poems of Zuzana Nováková. The band once again unleashes a very warm and warming music, which goes even further from traditional folk schemes than ever. The music of Cymbelín keeps maturing – it connects warm references to traditional Moravian songs with the playfulness and poetry of the warm tunes of acoustic instruments with contemplative and timeless texts. The album draws additional music colors from the guests Klára Šmahelová (bayan accordion), Petr Surý (double bass) and Jiří Kučerovský (acoustic guitar).
