“Isms” is a warmer and more emotional trance / electronica album than most of us are used to. At the core of this highly ethnic sounding album is a deep entrancing groove, lavishly textured with middle-eastern voices, instruments and percussion. Sure, there are plenty of relentless and unforgiving trancey goa-beats, vocoders and quirky synths– but there is also an element of life on this album…a certain warning and brooding nerve, brought on by the use of live instruments and breathing, flowing, warm textures. All in all, “Isms” is an album that is equally suitable for the alternative dance floor, as just sitting back and enjoying the trip for good or for bad – a trancey musical journey to the Middle East
