Works by: Eric Gross, Colin Brumby, Dulcie Holland, Robert Allworth, Lawrence Bartlett. The two principle works, by Gross, are settings of songs performed by bass baritone Alan Light with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, conducted by the composer. The six Lawson songs also feature double bassist Walter Sutcliffe. Five verses by Burns are set. Excellent performance and imaginative orchestral effects make this a highly recommended collection.
