Ron Lindsay is from Dundee on the east coast of Scotland.

The acoustic sounds and vocal music of singer songwriters such as Gerry Rafferty, Dan Fogelberg, Jonathan Edwards and Crosby Stills and Nash & Young were major influences in his early years.

He signed a recording and publishing deal with State Records in 1978. By 1980 a series of life events resulted in his singer songwriter ambitions being placed carefully on the ‘sometime later’ shelf.

A chance meeting in 2000 with Los Angeles based producer John Wooler was the catalyst for Ron’s decision to lift his ambitions off the sometime later shelf. This followed many conversations with John and in 2002 Ron made up his mind to pick up the pen and turn on the tape. New songs were written over the next year earning him positive feedback from his music industry contacts. Working closely by this time with John, he was introduced to Barbara Orbison. She asked if he would record some Celtic influences demos of late husband Roy’s songs.

Several weeks later the demos were completed. Ron and John knew that the Celtic inspired productions had worked and began making plans to record Ron’s debut album. Here we have Americelt Union, a vibrant alliance of acoustic roots, folk, and country laced with the finest Celtic cream.
